NeueHouse Madison Square Reveals the Longhouse
Coworking-social club hybrid NeueHouse has announced the launch of the Longhouse—a new socially distant yet community-driven concept—at its New York outpost. Developed in collaboration with Australian architecture firm BVN, the flexible outdoor venue serves as a space for work and meetings, complete with an F&B outlet, beneath an arched canopy ceiling that takes cues from the adjacent Armory building.
The Longhouse arrives as part of BVN’s Re-ply project, which aims to repurpose plywood sheets there were used to cover buildings throughout Manhattan at the onset of the pandemic. The linear concept is composed of dismantled wood barricades that have been upcycled and recrafted to establish a softened atmosphere inspired by NeueHouse’s signature Spanish steps..
